Clearing the space

We’ve started clearing the space!

It’s been raining since we decided to do this so I was pleased to be able to get out in the garden and get clearing this afternoon.

Picture of the area that will become the sensory garden. All gravel and up against the house. A hot tub sits in at the far end but will be moved before we start creating the garden.
The area destined to be our sensory garden has been cleared off ready to start!

This will be primarily a container garden, with a wheelchair accessible path flowing through it.

We have a spare sleeper so we positioned it in place to see how it looked.

I’ve ordered a few big pots and biggish plants from our local garden centre, who are doing local deliveries sorting the lockdown.

We do already have a few pots…

Using pots to mark out the path, Willow is checking out the position for the sand and water table, with turning circle behind.

I’d like two or three very large containers with trees in. Something to provide a bit of natural shade, some protection from the wind and somewhere to hang wind chimes!

One will be a bamboo to add natural sound to the garden.

This is actually happening!

I’ve created a plan of the sketch I sketched out on the iPad, too.

Pinterest has been well frequented over the last few days too, those who follow my Pinterest will notice my Sensory Garden Pinterest board filling up nicely.
